Hip Calcification and Hip Prosthesis

Calcification is a disease that occurs due to the wear and tear of the cartilage covering the joint surface. The part called cartilage is a shiny and slippery part located on the surfaces of the bones facing each other. There is no blood circulation.

If it is damaged in any way and its structure is disrupted, pain and limitation of movement will occur as the joint will lose its lubrication.

This disease, medically called "arthrosis", is popularly known as "calcification".

What are the Causes of Hip Calcification?

The two most important causes of hip calcification are age and weight. As we age, the joint cartilage, which carries the weight of the whole body, becomes thinner and wears out due to friction. If the body weight is high, this friction will be greater and the wear rate will increase. .
